HealthSpace

What is HealthSpace?

HealthSpace is a secure NHS website where you can view your NHS Summary Care Record, once it has been created by your GP.

You can also use the website to keep track of your own health information such as blood pressure, weight and hospital appointments.

It’s a free service that’s available to everyone aged 16 and over who is living in England and registered with a GP.

You can register for a basic HealthSpace account from any PC but to register for an advanced account you will need to visit your GP or one of our drop in sessions.

Basic HealthSpace

Anyone who is aged 16 or over and living in England can register for a basic HealthSpace account.

The term ‘basic account’ doesn’t really do it justice though – there are a lot of features that, in our opinion, go over and above the term ‘basic’.

For example, you can use the site to record and track any health information that you’re trying to monitor at the moment. We believe patients will find it very useful for keeping tabs on their asthma peak flow readings, diabetic blood sugar levels and weight and blood pressure readings. It’s a handy place to store all this sort of info together so you know you’ll never be searching for that scrap of paper you scribbled on again! Well, not for health information anyway!

Another really useful feature is the appointments calendar. You can add in any medical appointments you may have – GP, hospital, clinic, phone consultations – and set a reminder on a date/time convenient to you that will generate an email alert to jog your memory about the appointment.

It’s really simple to register for a basic account – visit the HealthSpace website to get started.

Advanced HealthSpace Account

In addition to all the great features available on the basic HealthSpace, if your GP has created an NHS Summary Care Record for you then you can register for an advanced HealthSpace account and view your record.

There is, understandably, more involved in the advanced account registration process. Because the account gives you access to some of your key medical information we need to verify the applicant’s identity before access is granted.

You can register for an advanced account by attending any of the listed
drop in sessions. If there are no sessions listed in your area, please email
eck-pct.healthspace@nhs.net and the local HealthSpace officer will contact you to arrange your registration.
