Manny’s Story
Manny Podesta, 37, of London Road, Canterbury is a man on a mission. He has enlisted the help of NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent Health Trainer Michelle Cole in his quest to lose weight, get fit and quit smoking.
The stay at home dad found out about the free help and support from the NHS after attending Riverside Children’s Centre, in Canterbury.
Manny said: “I really want to lose a bit of weight so I enlisted Michelle’s help before Christmas.I look after our two young children, Connor, five, and Chelsea, two, while my partner goes to work so it can be exhausting trying to keep up with them! I weigh about 17/18 stone and should be more like 12 stone for my height so that is my goal.
Michelle started me off by writing a food diary and I was amazed at just how much takeaway and junk food I eat. She has helped with suggesting alternatives and I have started eating breakfast every day which I never did before. This stops me from snacking during the day and also kick starts my metabolism."
