Breast screening is for everyone
NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent is encouraging women from all nationalities and backgrounds to attend their routine breast screening appointments.
National research has shown that women of black and Asian backgrounds and nationalities are less likely to attend regular screening than white British women.
So - if you're a woman aged between 50 and 70, whatever your background or nationality, you will be invited for regular breast screening once every three years - as long as you are registered with a GP practice.
It's important that you attend, even if no one in your family has ever had breast cancer. Early detection can save your life.
If you are over 70 you can request a mammogram by calling the East Kent Breast Screening Programme on 01227 783000.
