Due to the cardiovascular risks of the COX-2 inhibitor drugs, the documents below have been produced as templates for use in practices that have decided to make changes to the way in which they prescribe selective COX-2 inhibitors (“coxibs”). The templates cover a process for selecting appropriate patients on COX-2 inhibitors and reviewing therapy with the aim of stopping or switching to a traditional NSAID, with or without a proton pump inhibitor (PPI).

They are template documents to be adapted to by the practice or prescriber to their situation.
