These arise from the work of the South East Coast Health Policy Support Unit (HPSU) They are found at South East Coast Health Policy Recommendations. They are recommendations and do not have the mandate of NICE technical appraisals. They may however be adopted by the health economy instead of any other clinical guidelines, including those of NICE.
The HPSU was established on 1 April 2008 as a new service covering NHS South East Coast following reorganisation of the NHS. However policies before this date were shared across the South East Coast health economy and may be effectively owned and subject to annual review.
HPSU is accountable to the eight South East Coast Primary Care Trusts (SEC PCTs) and was set up to support them in making rational, prioritised, evidence-based decisions on investments in health and healthcare across the area.
