Clinicians are invited to help improve the quality of services provided to patients by becoming a clinical commissioner.
NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent is seeking more recruits to its pilot Clinical Commissioner programme.
Those who are successfully appointed have a chance to make sure the clinical view is central to shaping and designing services, in partnership with the Lead Commissioner.
There are clinical commissioner positions in community and primary care, child health, vascular services and learning disabilities. These posts are offered as part of the second phase of recruitment to the Clinical Commissioner programme.
The programme is the first of its kind in the south east Kent region and the PCT is proud of the level of interest and enthusiasm it has generated throughout general practice.
The PCT successfully recruited to 11 specialty areas identified as priorities in the first wave of recruitment, following the scheme’s successful launch.
The areas are dermatology, diabetes, gastroenterology, head and neck, long term conditions, mental health, muscular-skeletal, older people, respiratory, urgent care, women.
Lead Commissioners are eagerly anticipating working with clinicians to take their commissioning plans forwards.
