Decontamination Health Technical Memorandum 01-05: decontamination in primary care dental practices (HTM01-05)
This document is a guide for those conducting decontamination at a local level – that is, within the dental practice itself. However, this policy statement respects the option to transfer instruments/medical devices to other organisations for reprocessing under the Medical Devices Regulations 2002.
To help dental practices to improve their decontamination procedures, this document introduces specific benchmarks by which compliance with essential quality requirements and best practice can be achieved and demonstrated.
