The eastern and coastal Kent region covers a large area stretching from Sheerness to Dover, past Broadstairs and Ramsgate, and from Whitstable, through Canterbury and Ashford to Dungeness.
As a result NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent is one of the largest employers in Kent, with around 3,500 staff and a budget of over £1 billion, as well as being the sixth largest primary care trust in the country serving over 710,000 people.
