The Freedom of Information Act (2000) came into force on 1 January 2005, and gives you the right of access to all types of information held by NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent.

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 recognises that, as a member of the public, you have the right to know how public services such as the NHS make their operational decisions and how public money is used. The Act gives anyone a general right to request access to see official information held by public authorities such as NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent.

The Act reflects a national policy to shift from a culture of confidentiality to one of openness, where information is routinely available, subject to certain exemptions, to anyone who wishes to see it.

Our publication scheme and disclosure log contain information that has already been published and is available to download. Details about how to make a make a request for additional information is available on the FAQ page.
