An Equality Impact Assessment
An Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) is a process aimed at improving the quality of local health services by ensuring individuals and teams think carefully about the likely impact of their work on different communities or groups.
EIA guide
The aim of this equality scheme is to facilitate removal of barriers for all people with disabilities.
The purpose of this document is to demonstrate how the PCT intends to meet the General Duty under the Race Relations Amendment Act 2000.
The Gender Equality Duty [GED] comes into force in April 2007 and it requires public authorities to promote gender equality and eliminate sex discrimination.
The SES explains how the PCT plans to meet its statutory duties to promote race, disability and gender equality. It brings together the schemes to meet these duties and sets out a single action plan to address the issues raised.
The PCT plans to identify key “hard to reach” groups within the PCT area so to engage with these people to learn about their specific needs, particularly regarding access to primary care services. These groups include, children, homeless, disabled, gay and lesbian communities, older people and minority ethnic communities.
Monitoring data
The PCT takes its commitment to equality and diversity seriously and publishes monitoring data showing the breakdown of our workforce and the impact some employment processes have on different staff groups. This information will be regularly reviewed and updated.
