Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have a right to know who holds personal information about you. In the NHS your data is collected by your local Primary Care Trust (PCT), General Practice Surgery (GP) or hospital.

NHS Eastern and Coastal Kent uses patient identifiable data for a number of purposes related to providing you with the best possible care. Examples include services where you provide your personal data, e.g. the Stop Smoking Team and Public Health planning.
