The Clinical Executive Team (CET) has evolved during 2010 and now focuses the skills of three Clinical Executives to provide stronger clinical leadership and expertise to the Quality Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) programme of work. The Clinical Executives support the clinical leadership of Dr Robert Stewart, Director of Clinical Commissioning, and the enhancement of the clinical membership ensures that the PCT concentrates its clinical expertise and resource where it will have maximum effect on delivering key QIPP targets.
The three Clinical Executives will continue to work in partnership with PCT executives and the Shadow Clinical Accountable Officers of the emerging GP Commissioning Consortia to deliver better quality and more efficient services. The clinical executives will provide expertise in specific areas where clinical leadership is crucial in developing and delivering the PCT vision and values; this approach will be integrated into the GP Commissioning Consortia system as it evolves.
Clinical Executives will work closely with Shadow Clinical Accountable Officers in emergent GP commissioning consortia to support the transition programme and provide an additional clinical perspective to emergent strategies.
Dr Robert Stewart as Director of Clinical Commissioning provides the overarching clinical leadership in our conversations with our health, social care and local authority partners and patient and public representatives.
